Training Courses

Task Force 70 (TF70) provides advanced training specifically designed for officers serving in small and rural departments. Every course is built on the Big 5 foundational skills—Constitutional Judgment, Marksmanship, Breaching, Emergency Medical Skills, and Tactics—and emphasizes real-world application in rapidly evolving, high-threat situations.

Our goal is to ensure that officers return to their communities with not only advanced skills but also the confidence and judgment to act decisively, uphold constitutional principles, and mentor their teammates to the same level of readiness.

Patrol Tactical Operations Course (PTOC) - 5 Days | 50 Hours

The Patrol Tactical Operations Course (PTOC) provides officers with the tools and confidence to respond effectively to sudden and unexpected acts of violence. Designed for the realities of small-town and rural patrol, the course teaches officers how to operate under extreme pressure, in environments where backup may be limited or delayed.

Participants learn to integrate the Big 5 skill areas into practical, repeatable responses for incidents such as armed confrontations, active threats, or violent assaults in progress. Training scenarios replicate the chaos, speed, and confusion of real-world encounters so officers can build the mental and physical agility to act without hesitation.

Key Outcomes:

  • Understand and apply the Priority of Life through a constitutional lens when making rapid decisions.

  • Execute accurate marksmanship under duress, ensuring every shot reflects sound judgment and officer safety.

  • Deliver immediate casualty care, from bleeding control to stabilizing victims until higher-level medical resources arrive.

  • Apply proven breaching techniques to gain rapid access when lives are at stake.

  • Employ simple, effective tactics adaptable to solo patrol officers or small ad hoc teams.

Graduates of PTOC return with sharpened instincts and decision-making abilities, capable of facing complicated, violent incidents with clarity, while also mentoring peers to develop the same operational confidence.

Patrol Hostage Rescue Course (PHRC) - 5 Days | 50 Hours

The Patrol Hostage Rescue Course (PHRC) builds directly on the skills acquired in PTOC, focusing on one of the most dangerous and time-critical events an officer may face: a hostage situation. Unlike planned tactical operations, these events often unfold without warning and require officers to act before specialized teams can arrive.

This course equips officers with the judgment, precision, and specialized skill sets needed to rescue victims who are being held against their will. Instruction combines decision-making under constitutional principles with the physical skills necessary for immediate intervention when every second matters.

Key Outcomes:

  • Rapidly assess and identify hostage scenarios, distinguishing between negotiation opportunities and immediate rescue requirements.

  • Apply high-risk entry tactics and close-quarters combat techniques to neutralize threats while minimizing risk to victims.

  • Conduct safe and effective victim recovery and casualty management, ensuring hostages receive protection and emergency care.

  • Employ crisis negotiation principles to stabilize volatile situations when possible, reducing loss of life while maintaining constitutional integrity.

  • Integrate small-team tactics in environments common to small towns and rural areas such as schools, churches, businesses, and public spaces.

Graduates of PHRC return prepared to act decisively when hostage situations emerge in their jurisdictions. They will have the skills to bridge the critical gap between initial officer response and the arrival of larger tactical resources, ensuring innocent lives are protected in the moments that matter most.
